Personal symbolism
The lizard’s movement and what happens to it set the tone. A threatening presence can make you think about opposition or feeling exposed. If you kill the lizard, the image turns toward recovering something lost; if it escapes, frustration may linger in love or business. The woman-specific scene of a lizard climbing a skirt or scratching is associated with sorrow and severe hardship. Notice whether you felt fear, relief, disgust, or determination, and which relationship, reputation, or practical concern the scene brings to mind.
