Pipe dream meaning
Pipes can point to peace and comfort after struggles, unusual thought and community prosperity, or ill health and stalled business if old and broken. Smoking a pipe suggests an old friend’s visit and peaceful settlement of differences.

Personal symbolism
A pipe’s meaning shifts with its form and use. An ordinary pipe follows a period of struggle with peace and comfort, while sewer or gas pipes are associated with unusual thinking and prosperity in your community. An old, broken pipe brings a more troubled image of ill health and business stagnation. Smoking one places the dream in a social setting: a visit from an old friend and the settling of disagreements. The dream’s condition and activity may reflect what feels most relevant now.
Questions to reflect on
- Was the pipe whole, broken, or part of a larger system?
- Did you smoke it, and did the dream bring a particular person to mind?
