Personal symbolism
Rats can feel unsettling, especially if you associate them with dirt, disease, or unwanted visitors. In that case, the dream might reflect something in your life that makes you uncomfortable or suspicious. But rats are also intelligent and resourceful animals. If you were not afraid of them, the dream could relate to adaptability or finding ways to survive difficult circumstances. Your reaction changes the message: chasing a rat feels different from feeding one, watching it quietly, or discovering that many have been hiding nearby.
Questions to reflect on
- Were you afraid of the rat, curious about it, or trying to catch it?
- Is there a person or situation you currently distrust?
- Could the rat’s resourcefulness reflect a strength you need right now?
