Tar dream meaning
Seeing tar warns of pitfalls and the schemes of treacherous enemies. Having it on your hands or clothing points to sickness and grief, shifting the image from a warning about others’ designs to personal distress.
Dream scenarios
- 1

This warns of pitfalls and the designs of treacherous enemies.
- 2
Tar on your hands or clothing
This points to sickness and grief.
Personal symbolism
Tar is dark, sticky, and difficult to remove, making it an image that can feel like a warning or a burden. If you only saw it, notice whether it seemed to conceal a hazard or signal someone’s untrustworthiness. If it coated your hands or clothing, focus on the sense of being marked or weighed down; that version is associated with sickness and grief. The difference between observing tar and carrying it on yourself matters here. Your feelings in the dream may show which part of the image stayed with you most strongly.
Questions to reflect on
- Did the tar appear as a hazard, or was it stuck to you?
- What felt difficult to avoid or remove in the dream?
